URGENT: Knife Attack in Paris – Police Officer Wounded, Attacker Neutralized by Bullet
Paris (8th arrondissement) - This Thursday evening, a knife attack occurred near the Champs-Élysées, leaving a police officer injured and the attacker neutralized by a bullet. The incident took place on Rue Vernet, located near the famous Champs-Élysées, in the early evening.
Progress of the Attack
A man armed with a knife attacked police officers on Rue Vernet. According to initial information confirmed by Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, the attacker was neutralized by a bullet by the police after injuring a police officer. The victim, a member of the police force, was immediately taken care of by emergency services, as a matter of urgency, injured in the ear.
The attacker, aged 27, was injured in the abdomen and taken into care by emergency services.
Intervention and Response
The injured police officer was responding to a call from security guards at the Louis Vuitton store. When they arrived, the suspect, armed with a knife in his hand, tried to flee. Suddenly, he turned around and stabbed one of the officers, injuring his ear. One of his colleagues then fired a shot to neutralize the attacker.
